Michael Essien

Essien made his senior team debut in January 2002 and has represented his nation at three Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.At youth level, he represented his country at the 1999 FIFA U-17 World Championship and 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship, with the latter team finishing as runner-up. Essien has also represented Ghana at the 2006 and 2014 FIFA World Cups.Michael Essien is a Ghanaian professional footballer. He has also been capped for the Ghana national team more than 50 times.He won the UEFA Champions League in 2012, while also placing as runner up in the 2008 UEFA Champions League. He has won the Chelsea Goal of the Season award twice, in the 2006–07 and 2008–09 seasons.



Anderson Luís de Souza, known as Deco, is a retired professional footballer who played as an attacking midfielder or central midfielder.

Deco is one of the few players to have won the UEFA Champions League with two clubs, with Porto in 2004 and Barcelona in 2006. He was named UEFA Club Footballer of the Year and UEFA Best Midfielder in Porto's Champions League-winning season and was named Man of the Match in the 2004 UEFA Champions League Final. Deco was the first player to win the UEFA Best Midfielder Award with two clubs, Porto and Barcelona.

He earned 75 caps for them, playing at two UEFA European Championships and two FIFA World Cups, reaching the final of Euro 2004, and achieving a fourth-place finish at the 2006 World Cup.

Jerzy Dudek

Jerzy Dudek is a Polish former footballer who played as a goalkeeper.

After beginning his career in his home country, he went on to have successful spells in the Netherlands and England, winning the Champions League with Liverpool in 2005 and appearing in 186 official matches for the club over six seasons. He also spent four years at Real Madrid.

Dudek played 60 times for Poland – the second most-capped player in his position for several years – representing the nation at the 2002 World Cup.

Vali Gasimov

Vali Gasimov is an Azerbaijani retired footballer who played as a striker. Gasimov started playing for FC Mayak Kharkov and FC Metallist Kharkov. In 1992, he switched to FC Spartak Moscow but, unsettled, finished the season at neighbours FC Dynamo, being eventually crowned the first division's top scorer at 16 goals.

Gasimov was bought by Spain's Real Betis in January 1993. After just three La Liga appearances in his final season, he finished his stint in the country with two clubs Albacete Balompié and Écija Balompié.


Gasimov won 14 caps for Azerbaijan during four years, making his debut on 19 April 1994.

Revaz Arveladze

Revaz Arveladze is a retired Georgian footballer. He played for various sides in Europe. Born in Tbilisi, Arveladze midfielder began his senior career with Georgian club FC Dinamo Tbilisi. He then played abroad in Germany, and Belgium, before returning to Georgia in 1998. He now works as the Secretary General of the Football Federation of Georgia. He is the elder brother of fellow Georgian internationals Archil and Shota Arveladze. His youngest son, Vakhtang (Vato) is also professionally engaged in football.

Nazim Suleymanov

Nazim Suleymanov is a Soviet and Azerbaijani footballer best known as a striker for Alania Vladikavkaz in the 1990s.

Suleymanov was the first player ever to score for Azerbaijan in international football, in a friendly against Georgia in 1992. 

He was selected one of the best player of the Russia Top League season 1992/93.

Nihat Kahveci

Nihat Kahveci is a Turkish former footballer who played as a forward. Nihat is a product of Beşiktaş's youth system and was discovered by Hürser Mustafa Cindir when Nihat played in Beşiktaş in the 1996–97 season. He joined the first team at Beşiktaş in the 1997–98 season when he was just 17.  He played for "Real Sociedad" and "Villarreall". He is a bronze medalist of FIFA World Cup 2002 and UEFA European Championship 2008 with Turkey. Kahveci is a winner of the Turkish Super League and Turkish Cup with Beşiktaş.

Andrey Arshavin

Andrey Sergeyevich Arshavin is a Russian former professional footballer who played as a forward or midfielder. Arshavin began his career at Zenit Saint Petersburg in 2000. He went on to win numerous trophies with the club such as the Russian Premier League, League Cup, Russian Super Cup, UEFA Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. During his time with Zenit, Arshavin was also named as the Russian Footballer of the Year.
